Q M3A2: Regional Economic Integration Debate - Group 3 From BUS502: GLOBAL BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT MAY2020 30072796 [8wk] No unread replies. No replies. INTRODUCTION • We will use the group discussion forum for this debate. You have been assigned a group and will have access to your group's discussion forum only. Unlike the other discussions in this course, this assignment will be worth 5% of your final grade. • Use the EC Library resources to properly cite your work: o APA Format Tip Sheet (Links to an external site.) o Citing Sources (Links to an external site.) o Plagiarism & Copyright (Links to an external site.) • Use the EC Library guide to conduct your research: o Business Research Guide (Links to an external site.) BACKGROUND INFORMATION Britain recently voted to leave the European Union (EU). The EU was created, in part, to better enable participating countries to participate and prosper in the global marketplace. What would make the British citizens decide to leave the EU? PROMPT You will be working in a group of two or three students, as assigned by the instructor, to critically analyze the political and economic factors that influenced the British to vote to leave the EU and identify three reasons why the vote to leave the EU was or was not the best decision. Your instructor will divide the groups into “pro-exit” and “remain in EU.” Each student in the group should develop three reasons, supported by scholarly research, to defend your group’s assigned position on whether the decision to leave the EU was a good one or a bad one. Tasks: 1. Individually, you will compose three main talking points for your position on whether the decision to leave was a good decision or a bad decision. Your job is to develop three reasons, supported by scholarly research, to defend your assigned position on whether the EU should have left or stayed. Once you have developed your three points, you will post them to the group discussion forum by Thursday. 2. By Sunday you will post your reply: critical responses to your peer's three points. Your response should utilize scholarly-level research and critical analysis to explain to your peer, tactfully, why their three main talking points are flawed. Example for format for peer response: “Peer - Britain should leave because their GDP has shrunk 12% since they joined the EU (Author, YYYY) Your response – While GDP has shrunk 12%, that number is much smaller than similarly developed nations outside the EU, such as Japan, where the GDP has shrunk by 21% over the same period (Author 2, YYYY).” Note: This is a fictitious example. Your main talking points and your critical response to your peers should be about 500 to 750 words with a minimum of two references, utilizing APA format. EVALUATION This assignment will be graded using the rubric displayed below. Please review this rubric prior to beginning your work. You can also access the rubric on the Course Rubrics page within the Start Here module. This assignment is worth 5% of your final course grade.

The decision taken by Britain is supported by me. The confirmation given by Britain to not continue being a part of the EU had been the best decision because of the regaining of control of the country over its industries and organizations (Curtice, 2018). It is important to ensure that the financial aspects of every organization and every industry in Britain are supported, regulated and looked after by Britain. Such kind of supporting would not have been possible if there would be support shown by Britain for the new policies and new changes made by EU for its participating members.
